Brexit will bring significant changes in the environmental policy area. The Research Service has prepared this monitoring report for the Assembly’s Climate Change, Environment and Rural Affairs Committee. It provides an update on recent Brexit developments that are of importance to environmental policy in Wales.

On 14 November 2018, as this report was going to print, the UK Government and European Commission reached agreement on a Draft Withdrawal Agreement for the UK’s exit from the European Union. Detail on what is included in the Draft Withdrawal Agreement in relation to environment policy will be included in the next edition of this report.
